While Kevin Kelly talks about Internet of things as he predicts the next 5000 days, the question is are we even ready for the present? We are still struggling with Web 2.0 and Learning 2.0, trying to bridge the gap between digital natives and digital immigrants.

Web application development is one aspect that has picked up in the current times and it is one of the most inevitable aspects at that. Ecommerce or to put it in layman’s words business on the net is impossible without what we technically term as web applications. However, web application development has to be effective enough to earn business; otherwise it is as good as non existent. http://www.infysolutions.com
I think Web 2.0 is all nonsense. We've given a name to something that existed earlier too, and I cannot see how it's going to affect learning more than it already has (people looking for information on Google, social network and all that). I think most people are keen to jump on the web 2 bandwagon without really understanding where it's supposed to be headed- it's spreading like a jungle fire for sure, and I'm afraid that the good old e-learning has been left to die. We exploited its potential as much as we could, without really contributing to its evolution, and now we're done and want to talk about web 2.0.
